A: Very dark brown but not opaque; caramel colored head recedes and leaves some wisps of lacing. Carbonation is visible throughout the glass.
S: Muted; roasted malt characteristics, caramel, and some spicy/fruity sweetness. There is a decent amount of chocolate on the nose for a Belgian.
T & MF: The yeast and the malts work together very well...light medium mouthfeel and a wet, refreshing body...slightly creamy. Hits of chocolate, some darker fruits, a touch of tart sweetness, and (surprisingly) peanut butter...which gets even more dominant the more I drink and the more the beer warms.
O: A good stand by and a beer that serves a purpose, especially as the weather cools...as someone who prefers American stouts/porters, I can see the merit of this beer.
