12 oz. Bottle
Pours a pretty nice amber color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy/foamy white head, which leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, yeasty, spice. The taste is hoppy, malty, yeasty, citrusy. Medium body. Overall, a pretty tasty brew.

Here coems the golden color with big time macro whirlpool clarity. Soft white head, 3/5". This hit the Belgian yeast aromatics, but it was not phenolic or spice rackish, it simply had some fruity esters cum Belgium vibe.
Taste was smooth, no frills, nothing outlandish affair. Its a neat little beer with the yeast being the primary mover and shaker in the taste department, everything else is super tame and stays out of the way, not much to speak of in the hops and malt department.
Its unique and not simply for the sake thereof. I can dig it man.

Solid base hit but no homer which is how I feel about most of these pale ales from New Belgium. Nothing to complain about, it touches all the corners of malt, yeast, spice and light fruit, just doesn't bring them all together seamlessly or accent any one in particular. Complete without being complex.
For me there is a family resemblance among the NB Pale Ales that makes them so alike I can almost drink them interchangeably.
Recommended.

Pours a crystalline golden amber. Head is off-white, big, and foamy. Medium retention but leaves a fluffy film and plenty of lace until the end. Aromatically, it is sugar, alcohol, and the smallest vinegar funk possible to even notice. Taste is much less sweet than smell would indicate. Crackers, pasta, the onset of bandaid, although not distracting in the least, probably masked in part by the light herbal hopping. As expected, there is pepper in the aftertaste. Fuller end of light in body, with very fine carbonation, half-prickly, half-sudsy. Crisp but wet, and refreshing.

12 oz bottle, poured into a pint glass
Appearance: Pours a clear, somewhat deep, golden color with a half of a finger of white-colored head that quickly dissolved away into a thin lacing of foam that completely covered the top of the beer.
Aroma: Not much in the way of aroma, however there is some faint notes of toasted malt, candied sugar and Belgian yeast, which impart some faint notes of dried fruit, clover, honey and honey suckle.
Taste: What this beer lacks in aroma, it makes up for with some good flavors of bready, toasted malt up front, followed by some hone and brown sugar-like sweetness, spices of black pepper, coriander, and a touch of ginger. Finally, the beer finishes with some nicely balanced, floral, slightly citrusy, piney, hops.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied and nicely effervescent as there is quite a bit of carbonation to tickle the taste buds. With an ABV of 5.2%, there is no alcohol on the palate.
Overall: This is a good beer from New Belgium, and one that I believe should be back on New Belgium’s regular line-up. I like this very much.

12oz bottle, dated 09AUG15
A - creamy white head caps a golden colored ale
S - fresh yeast, biscuity malt, grass, lemon zest
T - tart, spicy, and zesty with lemon, grass, pilsner-like malt, and plenty of yeast
M - lighter side of medium for body, moderate carbonation, finishes quite bitter for a Belgian ale
O - nice and refeshing, but probably nothing I'd seek out.
