A: Deep mahogany with faint hues of maroon. A finger and a half of khaki foam rises up a generous pour into a snifter which leaves lacing on the glass
S: Tartness and balsamic vinegar run parallel to syrupy, berry sweetness. There is a base of brown bread along with substantial notes of wood and chardonnay.
T: Wood and leather quickly give way to tartness, astringent funk and earthy acetic acid bite. Some crisp sour green apples, raspberry syrup, and raisin sweetness come through in the middle. The oak along with bready cracker maltiness attempt to quell the tart edge succumbing to a dry and puckering finish.
M: Medium with good syrupy linger and moderate carbonation.
O: A nice sour which seems to exemplify the Flanders Oud Bruin style well. A dominating lactobacillus pucker paired with natural apple and berry sweetness. I usually enjoy a bit more fruit sweetness in my sours.
