The aroma here is lovely. Certainly bright and acidic...enough to make my mouth water just from the smell alone. Definitely a fruity note there, particularly of tart cherries. Yum.
Pours a deep mahogany in my glass. Head wasn't much to write home about, though that could be my fault admittedly.
Taste is initially sharply tart....reminicisent of vinegar and sucking on a lemon wedge. However, the fruity aspect then comes through that was noticed on the nose. Again, perhaps a cherry influence there....pleasant. The woodsy nature imparted by the oak barrels is also perceptible. Finishes quite obviously tart, but not quite as much as that initial hit was....it's pleasant.
Really enjoyed it, though at 16 bucks a bottle I'd be hesitant to buy any beer at that price very often.

Served on tap in a 11oz. goblet.
A- Deep garnet with a light toffee head, good degree of clarity.
S- Sour apple, light vinegar, some oak, maybe a bit of spice and vanilla.
T- More sour apple than anything, then some light vinegar, some oak, finishes dry. Not as complex as Le Terrior IMO.
M- Medium a bit more carbonation then I was expecting.
O- A great American version of the style and one of the best beers I've had from New Belgium. Definitely give this one a try.
