I had high hopes for this one, as it is one of the most highly regarded beers I can find in my area. I'm generally not a huge fan of New Belgian Brewing, but I wanted to try this one.
While I'm sure this beer is a fine representation of the Belgian Sour, I have to say I could barely drink it. In my purely subjective estimation, it was just far too sour for me to enjoy. My lips puckered with every drink. I couldn't even pick out any other flavors.
In a blind taste test, I would have said this was champagne, not beer--and I hate champagne.
Obviously, there must be something to this beer to garner all the great reviews it has from people more knowledgeable than myself. It just wasn't for me.

Served on tap in a 11oz. goblet.
A- Deep garnet with a light toffee head, good degree of clarity.
S- Sour apple, light vinegar, some oak, maybe a bit of spice and vanilla.
T- More sour apple than anything, then some light vinegar, some oak, finishes dry. Not as complex as Le Terrior IMO.
M- Medium a bit more carbonation then I was expecting.
O- A great American version of the style and one of the best beers I've had from New Belgium. Definitely give this one a try.
