2014 La Folie, sour brown ale, from New Belgium's Lips of Faith series. 7% ABV.
A: Plum red, with a slight pinkish hue. Grey-yellow in the dimple. About a third of a finger of head; settles to almost nothing. Medium arc of lacing.
S: Some kind of tart berry-cherry scent. Black cherry, maybe? Coffee cherry/coffee bean. Dry raspberry.
T/MF: Wow. That's interesting! There's a very sharp forward tang taste, but it doesn't seem so acidic, and it is short. More coffee cherry/black cherry. Some fruity funk. Acidity gets stronger as it reaches for the back of the tongue. I do get a bit of oak.
While not as good as some other sours I've had, a solid addition to my repertoire.
