Big bottle with a big aroma when you pour. Very active head, cloudy red/brown in color, light tan head. Smells of vinegar, pepper, and dusky earth. Taste is strong up front, threatens like cooked cherries, then tart, dry and more dry. Faint hints of worsteshire sauce. The aftertaste is sweet and oaky. Mouthfeel is sticky, chewy, and dry (again). The drinkability is good but this style is so sour & dry that it will limit it. This is an excellent example of the style and a great outing from New Belgium.
