A: Rum or a deep red bourbon with a very slight lacing of head.

S: Vinegar and wood.

T: Tart up front with a sour, candied dark fruit taste following. The dark fruits give way to more of a sour red grape finish.

M: Thin and crisp without feeling watery.

O: A very good sour brown. Not quite as good as the almighty Supplication but the next best I've found.

A- Whiskey- like appearance in the color and lack of sustained head or lacing.

S- Oak is dominant with some bretty funk and dark red fruit. Lovely.

T- Sour and nothing else. It delivers what is supposed to.

M- Lighter bodied, but fresh and clean. Shows brightness through the finish.

O- A good sour, but missing a little bit compared to top Belgian colleagues.

2011 in a tulip. Pours a dark ruby red/brown. Darker than other Flanders I've had. Steady carbonation bubbles streaming up the sides of the glass. Thick foamy brownish head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is very earthy with some sour cherry notes. Makes my mouth start to water immediately.

The taste is immense. Sour, tart, sour and tart. Very dry finish and mouthfeel. Creamy on the palate, and really gets your mouth salivating and puckering. Acidic, earthy and funky tones. Before having this beer I didn't know if it was brewed with Brettanomyces, but the first smell had me thinking about it, and the first taste sold it. Love that funkiness that the brett brings.

Reminds me a lot of Surly Five, but much more refined, and much more sour/tart. The only other sours that I think compete with this are Consecration, which is still tops in my book, and the Rodenbach 2007 Vintage, which it equals. Looking forward to getting more of this and aging it for a few years. Should be tremendous.

Great look. Brown body with a light tan collar. Cool lacing.

Big time sour notes, mostly lemon notes.

Mouth puckering. Perhaps the second most sour beer I've had thusfar. Hard to pick out any flavors :(

Highly carbonated, medium mouthfeel.

About the only negative thing I can say is this beer is sour almost for the sake of being sour. Almost. Would have again!
