on tap at Sheffield's for the pre-FoBAB party. pours apricot orange with two fingers of white head. good retention and no lacings. light laze.
aroma is of wet hay funk up front with a lightly fruity character and a light sweet/sour note in the background. quite alive in the nose.
taste is of tart and sour acidity with a bit of farmhouse funk alongside the same subtle fruit from the aroma. finishes curiously tart and with a light funk that lasts after the fact. very well done with a solid tart/funk character. the acidity is vinegar-esque and mildly biting.
mouthfeel is tart and acidic on the palate with a lasting tartness that gives way to a dry mouthfeel after the fact.
drinkability is excellent. vinous, acidic, and funky; just what a good sour should be. the funk is assertive in the nose, but receeds to the background on the palate. very drinkable and solid brew from New Belgium. cheers!
