Appearance: Cloudy amber. Like apple cider.

Smell: Tangy noise. Dry hopping is evident. Citrusy whole leaf hops. A funky sort of undertone.

Taste: Sour granny smith apples. Lemons. Tart grapes. All on top of subtle earthy-dank bass line. Hops come in on the back end.

Mouthfeel: Crisp and refreshing.

Overall: A high quality American-ish Sour Ale. A good introduction to sours IMO.

Awesome f*%king beer right here...

Im so blown away by the ability to bring me a beer that is very close to La Folie and give it this hop kick at the end that complements rather than overpowers...

This is a sour, first and foremost, and it doesn't hide it... not bracingly sour but rather tart with a nice kick of green apple without the vinegar notes usually present... the finish is masterful with this wave of juicy fruity hops that peek out just for a second and then the beer dries out on the palate... sip after sip, this one is on point...

Had lots of beers thus far, more than many, less than some.... this offering rocked my world and makes me glad I have several more bottles...

My scores don't lie... for some, this one ain't perfect and that's ok... for me? Its exactly what I want in a sour... nice bracing tartness without all the vinegary overkill with a drinkability that wont f'ing quit...

This is a bad mama jama right here...

In the world of wild ales, this is more a somewhat tame one. Leather and barnyard tones. Mostly leather with a minimal hint of the barn. This is okay. I don't know if this was meant to be aged in order to bring out more character, but I feel like it could be bringing a lot more, but just isn't. Glad to try it, but not really doing anything for me. I prefer La Folie over this one.

A: Clear, light amber color. Head is 2-fingers of off-white head that fades fairly quickly, but lacing is decent. (BTW, was I supposed to swirl the bottle before serving to suspend bottom sediment? Or was mine bottled from the top of the barrel, and others' from the bottom? Because other reviewers say it's cloudy, but I can look through my glass and see objects clearly on the opposite side without a hint of haze...)

S: Hops is the foremost aroma, both citrus and floral. Some mild, sour apple as well.

T: No sweet malt, it jumps straight to powerful tart flavor. I detect a little pear before the bitterness of grapefruit rind in the hops appears. The finish is more sour than bitter. This is really tasty stuff!

M: Moist, with good carbonation. Finish a touch dry.

O: First and foremost it's a sour ale. The barrel aging appears to have smoothed it out a bit, and it's very well balanced by the hops. And I have to mention that it's refreshing, but in that slightly dry way that leaves you wanting just one more sip. Honestly, I can't wait to have another.

A- Pours a murky dark gold with a soft 1 finger off white head. terrific lacing.

S- Quite different from any sour I have ever smelled. crabapple, pear, peach, and even some clove comes through. Interesting that I smell juicy bubble gum. Citra hop and wood barrel also come through. Aroma is divine

T- So acidic. Really kicks you in the back of the jaw with its tartness...like a crybaby. Somewhere along the way it mellows out and finds a sweet fruity balance. Great depth with apple, pineapple, and peach.

M- mid body, slick, and lip smacking dry. Very crisp and refreshing.

O- A clear NB favorite for me, and probably my favorite sour. Complex, tart, and terrific hoppy character. I'd give it a slight nod over Boulevard's Foeder Project #1.
