This is quite an interesting winter ale. Amber in color with a tan, finger-high head, and quite a unique aroma. Is it toffee? Vanilla? Malt? Something woodsier? I like it, but I cant put my finger on what it reminds me of.
Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth with a nice bit of carbonation. The taste is more woodsy than sweet, with a nice hoppy bitterness. Theres a subtle floral undertone, along with more vanilla malt and toasted grain.
The taste and aroma of this ale is perplexing, but I find that all in all I like it. Maybe not the best winter offering out there, but its drinkable.
