Poured from a 12 oz bottle into nonic pint glass.
A - Perfectly clear, dark gold/light amber in color. Half inch of white head rises with modest retention. Some lacing. Looks light, clean, and crisp.
S - There's a smell here that's present in some beers that I absolutely dislike. Earthy, grassy undertones mixed with a bit of herbal citrus. Lightly toasted malt provides a sort of backbone, and when everything comes together it just sort of smells like dirt.
T - I was hoping for a bit of biscuity sweetness from this blonde, but it's basically a direct translation of the nose. Strong earth and grass from the get-go, with a little bit of sweat. The "sweaty" flavor lingers on top throughout, greeting some lime-ish flavors mid palate with some extremely lightly toasted grain; more grain than toasted. A little bit of sweetness creeps in with the grain, but a mild bitterness and even a touch of sourness late palate dry the brew out for the most part.
M - Light bodied with moderate to high carbonation. Very crisp and clean. Finish seems a bit watery at times but overall this is a great representation of a light, refreshing beer.
D - Quite drinkable, only it's got some flavors I'm not particularly fond of. When ice cold, this could be a great, flavorful alternative to a lot of the production lagers out there. I'm not much for the taste, but it's inoffensive enough for anyone to enjoy.
