In the absence of trying to match this to the "witbier" style, this is a fine quafable beer. It poured a nice cloudy pale yellow with a good tall white crown of a good wheat beer, with decent retention and nice lacing. So far right on mark. The nose was sweet muffins, fresh fruit salad, and some hop florals. The taste was husky wheat and that familiar Belgium yeast character; not bananas but leaning that direction. Sweet grass came in, but it ended with a very dry finish. No hop bittering but some citrusy dry-hopped flavors. I really wanted "crisp" in the mouthfeel but didn't find it. Light bodied and the clean dry finish made it easy going down, but the refreshment factor was low. A nice beer and good drinkability if you're not expecting a classic wit. I remain a New Belgium fan.
