Poured an extremely pale yellow. Stone might refer to the color as "fizzy yellow beer." But of course, this beer is not. Head dissipated quickly and little lacing was left.
Smells at first is apples and oats. Some honey and it reminds me of a dry champagne or white wine. The spices don't come through in the nose as they do in the taste.
Most noticeable taste the spice that is added to this beer. It isn't overpowering, but it is what I noticed first. Some honey flavors are coming through in a subtle, mellow sort of way.
Taste is smooth up front with the spice hitting next and then some small bitterness finishing off along with a warmness and tingling that's left on my tongue.
Drinkability is decent on this one. The carbonation and spices might keep me from drinking a whole 6-pack, but this beer is unique and enjoyable. Light and smooth. I enjoyed it a lot.
