On-tap at Beachwood BBQ. From notes:
Appearance: Poured with no head to speak of. Lacing is minimal and transient. Color is a bright gold slightly dulled by an appropriate peach highlight.
Smell: Vanilla-like sweetness, brett, and peaches on the front end. On the back some white grape vinousity and a slight hint of some spice character that is difficult to discern - celery salt? A slight soy sauce-like quality emerges as the beer warms.
Taste: Sourness is more evident here, but this is not nearly as overpowering as some Lambics/Gueuzes or even other American Wild Ales, and is well-balanced. Would be good for an "opener" for those new to sour ales. White grape vinousity again - almost champagne-like. Peach ring candy peach flavor, a bit sweet.
Mouthfeel: "Juicy" came to mind. It was, however, just a tad undercarbonated.
Drinkability: Extremely drinkable. A very, very nice sour ale, and not too daunting at all.
Serving type: on-tap
