Served on tap. Pours a clear straw color with a nice beige head. The nose has fruity malts, peppery yeast, and a subtle spices. Taste is a bit light for me, but is well balanced. Mostly powered by the wheat malts and tropical fruits. Light body drinks easy. A decent attempt at the style, but nothing special. A good session brew.

Sampled at the New Belgium Tap Room

A: Light golden with a white, porous head. Light lacing.

S: Light spice character with a mild graininess.

T: A strong mix of spices with a black pepper flavor standing out. A slight white wine character. Boozy and slightly astringent. Flavor is fleet and quick to dissipate from the palate.

M: Light bodied with moderate carbonation. A clean, dry finish.

D: A decent brew, but somewhat bland and lacking in character. Overall, a bit rough and unrefined, though there could be potential in this one.

One of the Lip's of Faith brews from New Belgium. Described as a Belgian strong pale ale brewed with ginger and grains of paradise.

Served on tap at the brewery tasting room. It has a pale golden yellow color and great clarity. The small amount of white head diminishes quickly but leaves some nice lacing behind.

The aroma has a slightly sweet fruity character but not much beyond that.

Flavor is sweet up front but finishes dry. Melon and white grapes are in the description and I pick up both in the taste. Good spicy notes from the ginger and possibly the Belgian yeast as well. It's similar to a spicy white wine, maybe chardonay. Grassy, almost earthy at times, and slightly sour, it would make a great summer sipper.

Mouthfeel is smooth with relatively low carbonation for the style, which I like. The alcohol is well hidden and it's surprisingly easy to drink given that the tap master said it was something like 8.3 percent ABV.
