On-tap at Barley's in Overland Park. Poured an orange color, slightly hazy, but not too much so. Thin layer of off-white foam receeded shortly, leaving a bit of lacing on the sides of the glass for a short amount of time. Strong floral scent, supported by some earthen and citrusy scents, and maybe a touch of a honey sweetness in there.
The floral and earthen flavors show up in the taste, too, with a stronger kick of citrus character, like that of a lime. The slight presence of honey seems to be in the taste, too, but there is a strong spiciness to the taste, like a pepper, that sweeps through. The mouthfeel is thin and watery, a little sharpness of a bite to it, but not much.
All in all, a decent beer. I'll be interested to try it in a bottle, since it is a bottle conditioned beer, and see what difference that makes.
Serving type: on-tap
