Purchased from Bruisin Ales ($15) and poured into a Duvel tulip. Straw golden color with a nice hue of orange. Opaque with a solid two fingers of near white head. Frothy with lots of tiny bright bubbles. Active like a lava field off the coast of Madagascar.
White pepper aroma as well as clove & wheat bread.
Funky first taste, lemony and grassy. Sunflower seeds (unsalted) Bitter at first with a wave of slight Brett and spice. White pepper, lemon peel bitterness. Grassy hop flavor with some earthiness. Strange combo of bitterness & slight Brett. Finishes dry and peppery.
American Wild Ale? I don't think so. I really loved the "old" Biere de Mars by New Belgium.
