Hoptober, my favorite time of the year!
Straw yellow body with a thin white foamy head. Not the most appealing looking beer, but acceptable for the style.
Aroma is slightly sweet and citrusy, with an underlying toasty malt base. Appealing, yet not overwhelming.
Taste is a much welcome change from the lackluster appearance, and aroma. Starts out with a great creamy mouthfeel. Followed by an interesting display of delicious biscuity malt, with pale fringes of burnt toastiness. Soon followed by a nice citrus hop note with flavors of - lemon, sappy pine, and a healthy dose of grapefruit. The finish is dominated by some great display of peppery semi-spicy flowery florals, fresh rosemary, thyme, and lemongrass. Finishes crisp, and assertive - florals lingering.
I really liked this one, it's one of the more unique beers I've had in a while. Just very refreshing. It's totally satisfying in all aspects you have your malts, hops, and just that overall beer craving - plus it's from the great folks at New Belgium. What else could you ask for?
