12 oz. bottle poured into NB belgian glass
A= Translucent copper color, with a 3/4" head which slowly receeded to a nice halo with a thin layer of white foam remaining. Appears very carbonated.
S= Smooth aroma with malt laced notes in the beginning. Citrus hop aroma with hints of pineapple.
T= mild maltiness with an herbal hoppiness in the middle, and a grassy hop finish. Piney, herbal and grassy hop notes. Great hop flavor! Not as bitter as many of the IPA's I am familiar with. NB's usual malt character comes through.
MF= Light but leaves a thin coating in your mouth and throat, bubbly on the tongue with a dry finish. Nice not out of control hop bitterness from start to finish with a mild lasting bitterness.
D= Quite drinkable, reminds me of a summer ale. I will definitely be buying another sixpack when the weather warms up.
Overall a delicious brew but not a great example of the IPA style. Would be a great beer to introduce non-hop heads to the world of true enlightened hoppiness.
