Chinook, Simcoe, Cascade hops are delicious, but a bit grassy for my taste, and the malt to pale to have much influence over the dominance of the hops. The golden color and generous head are delighful to look at... This is a very drinkable IPA, but not as tasty as New Belgium's Rampant Imperal IPA

Poured from a 12oz. into a shaker pint glass. Drink by Sept. 28

A- Light copper, high degree of clarity, two finger high white head fluffy head.

S- Pine, orange, grapefruit, floral, thought maybe it was Centennial in here but turns out it's Cascade so I was close.

T- Pine, floral, citrus is much less than in the aroma, pretty big bitterness for a single IPA.

M- Medium, crisp, clean and easy drinking.

O- A pretty decent IPA that is easy to find and very affordable, nice flavor and mouthfeel for a lower abv IPA. That said, I probably wouldn't pick this one over something like Two Hearted, Centennial, Torpedo, or Lagunitas IPA, which are usually my go to choices for an IPA sixer. I also found the bitterness a bit too big and lingering for my preference.

I have tried this one over the years several times, it is a very good beer. It is quite possibly one of my gateway IPA's, I was beginning to enjoy the style around the time I tried this one, but it was one of the first that really did it for me. Its piney, resinous, but now looking back it is not all that potent compared to some of the other IPA's I have consumed over the years. Its a very well balanced beer and one that someone should try if they are looking to try an introductory IPA. It definitely has that signature Colorado style and New Belgian yeast strain going on. Its a bit biscuity but hoppy enough to make a novice to IPA's enjoy this particular style. Then again it may come across as a bruiser, but if you find your self getting into IPA's or Pale Ales, you should try this one out. Its easy to find and relatively inexpensive for what you get.
