22oz bottle poured into a tulip.
A - Pours a pale, straw goldenrod color, pretty clear as well. A ton of carbonation can be seen in the body, which multiple streams of bubbles creating a torrent. About 1.5-fingers worth of head grows, ivory in appearance, with very good retention, probably due in part to the amount of carbonation. The lacing as well is great, with thick, generous foam covering nearly every inch of glass.
S - The aroma brings a vivid, fresh hop burst, which focus mainly on the grapefruit and citrus, but also brings pineapple and a dank pine smell as well. It's almost entirely hoppy, with only the slightest bit of caramel malts in the finish.
T - Given the amount of hops in the nose, I was expecting an equal amount of contribution for the flavor, but I am left with a little less than what was promised. It is pretty bitter, taking a lot from the hops, but the flavor seems to fall beyond the wayside. If the aroma gave the impression of a citrus-forward beer, the taste essentially discards that, instead leaving a touch of fruit and pine, replaced with malts and a strong bitterness.
M - Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with high carbonation. This feels pretty nice on that palate, moving smoothly and easily across the mouth while delivering the flavors, but there isn't a whole lot of distinct flavors that come across with it.
D/O - Drinkability is moderate. The body and nose on this are pretty nice and enjoyable, but the flavors fall a little short. Rather than extracting the rich, juicy flavor of the hops, New Belgium brings a bitterness that is not faithful to the nose. For $4, I can't say this is disappointing, but I wish the bitterness was toned down a bit in favor of the taste.

I picked up this single 12oz brown bottle at the Binny's store in Plainfirld, IL for $1.67. It was in their mix-and-match loose beer bin. No freshness date.
The beer poured a clear, amber/orange color and made a ½-finger of white head that lasted a little over a minute. It left some really nice lacing.
The beer smelled like orange peel.
Mild malty sweetness with a lot of citrus in it - mostly orange. It had both a fruity orange juice flavor along with some really bitter orange peel flavor. Also a touch of lemon and grapefruit hops.
Light bodied with medium carbonation.
If you like orange flavored beers, then this is for you. Even if you're not an orange fiend it's still pretty good.
