22 ounce bomber poured into my New Belgium Globe glass. I've been enjoying these Globes for a year now, but this is the first time I've been able to fill it with a New Belgium beer...
A: Pours a hazy opaque orange shade with an awesome thick white head with great "pancake batter" bubbles in the middle. A picture of perfection.
It leaves great lacing on my glass as I work my way through the bottle.
S: Some hop bitterness and grapefruit is a little overpowered by a resiny sweetness.
T: Immediately I notice that this beer is thinner and lighter than expected. None-the-less, it's well balanced. Nice hop bitterness (with a touch of grapefruit) is balanced out by malt sweetness. But it's all done at a "lower volume". This beer has a "watery" thinness to it. None of the flavors dominate.
The beer finishes dry and bitter in a pleasing way.
M: Light and thin, a watery brew that leaves behind a touch of hop oils and sweetness.
D/O: Rather drinkable and somewhat repeatable. This was a fine IPA, but nothing spectacular.
