New Belgium Brewing 'Ranger IPA' @ 6.5% ,originally tasted on tap at GCBF'13, this review served from a 6pack of 355 ml bottle's purchased for $15

A-pour is gold from the bottle to glass with a medium size off-white head leaving a streaky lace along the pint

S-nice pine resin presence to start

T-ok/good tasting IPA , not as good as the smell

MF-ok carbonation , medium body , nothing harsh on the palate

Ov-decent IPA , ok standard , no wow factor

I poured a bottle into a pilsner glass.

Appearance - Clear golden yellow color with two fingers worth of head. Lots of patchy lacing.

Smell- Light pine resin aroma.

Taste- Bitter grapefruit hop flavor with hints of pine. Nice flavor but not overpowering.

Mouthfeel- Light bodied, crisp, and dry. An average amount of carbonation.

Overall- While I'm not a big fan of IPAs (I got this in a New Belgium variety pack) this one isn't bad. I like how the hoppy bitterness mellows out after a few sips. I could see myself drinking this on again.

Ok.. Very Nice IPA New Belgium folks..
Very nice gold/amber/yellow colour! (Sorry, my wife say's I'm colourblind).
The smell is excellent! A muted, Sweet pinecone essence (scratch a young pinecone with your thumbnail- you'll understand) .
Taste is nice with a bittersweet/tangy/citrus taste. The only small critique would be the mouth feel, to me, was a bit lacking the robustness of say, Bells Brewery 2 Hearted Ale. But Overall an excellent IPA that I'll be sure to try again when my tastebuds are more alert.

Pours a nice golden color in a 16oz pub glass with about a 1/inch head that dissipates quickly leaving some nice lacing on the glass. Carbonation is really active as a closer look is examined.

Smell is of hops as you would expect from an IPA with maybe a little malt in the background. Pine and lemon are the dominating aromas.

Taste is nice and hoppy. Again, pine and lemon are the big players here. As a couple of sips are taken, hops seem to mellow out on the pallet.

Mouthfeel is nice with good carbonation.

Overall a really good beer. I have been drinking beer with much less hops here lately so that probably amplifies the hoppyness for me. It was really nice because they were not overpowering and as mentioned, they seemed to mellow out as the glass emptied.

Golden colored and good clarity, medium level carbonation and lower levels of white head retention. Nice hop aroma, like bitter grapefruit. For an IPA I found the flavor to be better balanced then most IPAs, some maltiness present, but a bitter hop aftertaste is the dominate flavor present. Very crisp as well as drinkable ale. The mouth feel is fantastic! Smooth and very creamy...

I am not a hop-head by any means, but the balance and smoothness of this IPA was very good and an IPA worth buying again in my book.
