Ranger is a pretty simple, tasty IPA. It's refreshing and extremely drinkable, with it's most remarkable aspect being its clean malt base. The malts are just so perfectly clean and crisp, they allow the more delicate citrus flavors of the not excessively bitter hops to shine. Like the other New Belgium main-line beers I've had so far, it's not a jaw-dropper, but instead an extremely tasty and very drinkable beer.

Good by Oct 27 bomber, had on July 29. I assume that means pretty damn fresh. Pours a clear light copper golden with big fluffy white head. Aroma is big pine hops, sweet, and more pine. Beautiful. Flavor is pine bitter up front, fading into light floral citrus, then lots of grass, and finishing with a lingering grapefruit. Light bodied and yet slick. Medium high carbonation. This is very nicely done! I could drink this all day.

A: Yellow color, with a white two finger head, no lace

S: earthy hops, pine notes and citrusy

T: predominates the bitterness of the hops, nice clean with some grain and cereal notes

M: nice level of carbonation and medium body

Great beer to drink
