Poured into a tumbler.
Appearance-Sunny yellow/orange body, lots of haze and carbonation clinging to the glass. Head is about 3 fingers of soapy white. Retention is oustanding along with some real nice lacing.
Smell-Array of different hops. Floral/Earthy, Piney, and lots of citrus...grapefruit, lemon. Spiciness and yeastiness are pretty subtle and are overpowered by the hops.
Taste-Starts off very bready then you get hit with the hops, but it's not too pungent, but certainly isn't as juicy as i'd like. Towards the back end some of the belgian characeristics do come through. A little bit awkard balance wise.
Mouthfeel-Moderate carbonation, and pretty light to medium bodied...pretty watery.
Overall-I love the fact you can get a Belgian IPA in a 6 pack for a good price year round, so that's good. It's just missing some of the belgian charactistics I like, and a little thin, needs a little more bang to it.

From notes, 4/29/11. Draft, City Beer Store. A very nice Belgian IPA. I rather like the Lips of Faith series. They mostly would make for excellent introductions to their various styles, since they’re friendly, enjoyable versions that still pack good flavor and some complexity. This isn’t quite competing with the best of the sub-style, but it’s nearly there and very good in its own right. Good citrus/grass/floral hop notes blend with Belgian yeastiness and a touch of earth. Taste is a bit sweet but finishes dry with a gentle bitter bite. A very pleasant beer and another win for New Belgium’s fancy line.

A-pours a golden with a thick white head that dissipates somewhat quickly but leaves some great lacing the entire length of the glass.
S-floral, Belgian yeast, hoppy
T-tastes much like the nose with floral and citrus notes, Belgian yeast, a somewhat chalky aftertaste. It is light and refreshing but finishes very dry.
M-Somewhat thin with a good amount of carbonation
D-One could definitely drink a few of these in a session if they desired, but for me the dry finish cuts into the drinkability.
Overall, I'm not a huge fan of Belgian IPAs, however this one seemed middle of the road. I've had better offerings from New Belgium.
