Notes from 10/27/10
Shared this bomber with my old lady
A:Pours a see thru amber color with a small white head that falls fairly quickly,
not much lacing is left down the glass
S:Smells pretty faint. Nose picks up a mild hint of the juniper berries with a little
bit of ginger as well. Also some sweet malts up in the mix.
T:Interesting to say the lease. Up front there isn't much happening, get some sweet malts
in the middle then some lingering ginger and juniper on the end. Afterwards you get that
little bit of warming and chest burn almost similar to sipping a glass of gin.
M:Body of the brew is thin with not much carbonation, palate left with a little sweetness left hanging around.
D:This one is definitly a interesting brew, not to much on the flavor or aroma side
like I was expecting, but none than less something different. Drink is a little rougher
with the burn coming down the chest. Don't know if I would seek this one out myself
but some people might really enjoy this one. Big thanx goes out to Ben my N. Belgium
rep. for hooking me up with this one.

Served from bottle into a New Belgium globe. Poured red-orange with a half finger off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained excellent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, BIG wheat, BIG grain, spice, and big sweetness. The flavor was of sweet malt, spices, grain, subtle tea, sugar, and earth. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a decent brew. With this being my first brew from the style I can honestly say that I don’t have a refined palate for this style, however, I was not a massive fan of it. The aroma was very sharp when it came to sweetness/maltiness. The flavor was a little bit better with a bit more balance. That was a very welcomed change as based on the aroma, I was rather concerned once I smelled it. Glad I got the chance to try this one though, but don’t think I will go out of my way to do so again.
