Nice aromatic scent which is unique, a bit of a toffee sweetness which is reminiscent of a scotch ale.
Medium to lower end of carbonation, notable bitterness to me along the sides of the mouth. Bit of creaminess with some weight on the palette, but pretty light.
Poured to goblet with slight head which quickly dissipated. Nice amber appearance with reddish hints in the light.
Bit of maltiness comes through with some citrus hints off the hops, maybe I'm missing it but I'm not catching the juniper in the flavor.
Drinkability Rather drinkable, price is more the hurdle with this beer at $6 a bomber. Could easily drink a few pints
This is a difficult call. I've never had sahti before and was expecting a bit more of a different experience with more of a juniper essence. It's a good tasting spiced ale though and would have again at the right price…

Served from bottle into a New Belgium globe. Poured red-orange with a half finger off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained excellent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, BIG wheat, BIG grain, spice, and big sweetness. The flavor was of sweet malt, spices, grain, subtle tea, sugar, and earth. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a decent brew. With this being my first brew from the style I can honestly say that I don’t have a refined palate for this style, however, I was not a massive fan of it. The aroma was very sharp when it came to sweetness/maltiness. The flavor was a little bit better with a bit more balance. That was a very welcomed change as based on the aroma, I was rather concerned once I smelled it. Glad I got the chance to try this one though, but don’t think I will go out of my way to do so again.
