Nice and dark pour, two fingers slight off white head, leaves a thick Styrofoam lacing.

Smells of ripe oranges and sweet malts

Oh man, mowed grass, salt lentil soup yum, banana, clove heavy, barley barley barley, and yes sir, citrus kicks and deep dark wheat and pinto beans. This is a killer unique flavor. Much better job than their bs attempt at Sahti.

Medium to heavy body with a mouthful of carbonation. Solid.

I would recommend this to the experimental drinker, its a unique drank son! Not sure how much I could put down tho, probably just the bomber.

A - Great pour. Nice off-white foamy head; builds slowly. Brew is dark crisp brown with lots of reds and blacks. Nice head retention too.

S - Lots of huge banana!!!! Great scent for this style! Lots of spices too. Not your girlfriends wheat...

T - Strong, but hidden nicely, zero heat. Great smooth Belgian goodness. Lots of cloves, banana, spice.

M - Dry! Great carbonation, but slightly bitter. The bitterness doesn't fit with this style.

O - Rockin' brew, glad I finally got to try it!

New Belgium Lips of Faith Series Dunkel Weiss, 1 pint, 6 fl. oz., Alc. 9% by vol.

Very dark appearance, nearly black, complete and utter opacity, lovely creamy tan head, large and lasting, looking great.

Aroma: banana cream pie. Boom, there it is. Soft, sweet, slightly spicy. A little bubble gum.

Taste: Big malty flavor. Dark and deep. Great little texture, dark fruit flavor coming through, a little fig, some grape, and then nicely dry. Some bits of cocoa, a beautiful mix of chocolate and dark fruit, rich and malty. Deee-licious. Tast-eee!
Can't dispute that. One flaw? That 9% a.b.v., it's roaring in now, and I wish it wouldn't. This tastes just delicious, and could have still been, without being so strong. Whoa.

The beer pours a dark brown color with a large, off-white head. The aroma is heavy on the wheat and roasted malt, with a little bit of pepper and cloves. The flavor is more of the same. I get some dark fruit, caramel malt, molasses, wheat and pepper. Very drinkable, with only a little bit of the 9 percent ABV showing. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very nice dunkelweizen and another good Lips of Faith beer.

On-tap at the Distillery in Savannah, GA on 2/5/11. Poured into a NB Globe.

A - Dark cola brown with a fluffy 3-finger bone-colored head. Retention is great, some streaky lacing is left on the glass.
S - Dark malt, roasted plantains, cloves, and caramel. Huge banana flavors on this, smells great!
T - Very close to the nose, dark roasted banana or plantains dominate with cloves, bubblegum, and a heaping caramel malt backbone. Probably the "roastiest", most banana-forward Dunkelweizen I've had.
M - Smooth and creamy with a medium body and prickly carbonation.
D - Nicely drinkable, but the high ABV would keep this from being sessionable.
