Best by 11-30-2011

a: clear golden with a finger head.. active carbonation streaming up..

s: graininess.. light citrus with some lemon peel.. hints of spice. rounded out with fruity esters that create an apricot aroma. maybe even some white grape?

t: again more graininess.. big yeasty characters & some spices. some floral notes as well.. very light on the citrus. the apricot comes in on the backend with faint lemon peel. refreshing.

mf: light-medium body with crisp carbonation. dry chalky finish begs for another sip.

o: a nice thirst quencher. just wish the yeast wasnt so overpowering..

Edit: had another couple bottles a few days later.. got a bit of a tart/sourness in the flavor.. its just slight though.. added a nice touch..

Pouren into a noic a dull lighter golder with athinner but well defined white head that left a few broken rings of lace as it settled.Like others have said the aromas are quite yeasty and toasty,caramel/biscuit lends a little sweetness.Somewhat dry and grainy on the palate, the big yeastiness again is a big component of the beer. Its a good summer brew,a little bigger than many with its full on yeast attack.

Pour/Appearance: Minimal head, quickly disappearing head, which left thick lacing. Very clear/clean and deep amber in color.

Smell: Yeast, citrus, and floral notes

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied, not quite as smooth as expected, but this is not a complaint.

Taste: Lemon throughout and some grassy hops giving it a very slight bitterness.

Overall another great brew from New Belgium that's worth your time. I certainly won't fault the high rating the bros gave to this one.

Pours golden with a really nice white head that clings to the glass. Aroma is very malty with a hint of citrus. Wow, flavor is not what I expected at all: again malty, but like a whole grain cracker with no sweetness. The hops make their presence known with a lime note in the finish. While this is an ale, it reminds me more of a pilsner and is equally drinkable on this hot Texas afternoon. I wish I had a sixer of this. Very, very easy to drink. Definitely one for those lawn chair days.

12oz brown bottle with a freshness date.

Bright pale yellow golden color, head does its work and jumps on the glass. Peppery, lemon, wild flowers and hit of apricot with fresh baked cracker in the nose. Lighter body, very smooth. Graininess comes across semi-dry. Lemon grass, orchard fruit, faint mint and dry biscuits. Herbal and floral with a mild but very pleasing fruitiness. Bone dry finish.

I would not expect anything less from New Belgium, very easy drinking for a hot day but still packed with intricacies.

Bottle pours a chill hazed golden orange body with a two finger vanilla head. Good retention with some patchwork lacing.

Aroma is a bit tame but has vague fruity esters, yeast, a hint of caramel, and floral hops.

Light medium body is well carbonated.

Taste opens with fruity ripe pear and caramel sweetness, followed by a balancing floral and grassy hop bitterness. A hint of yeast all the way through but the finish is clean and even.

A well constructed and sessionable blonde or golden ale.

On tap at the Flying Saucer on the Lake.

The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is full of wheat with some grass from the hops. The flavor is more of the same with a little bit of citrus notes mixed in. Still, the dominant flavor is wheat with not too much else exciting going on. Easy to drink and I think this would go nicely on a hop summer day. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Nonic Imperial Pint. Enjoy by date of September 18, 2011.

Appearance: Clear golden blonde. Moderate head that diminishes too rapidly, leaving very little lacing.

Smell: Floral, citrusy and spicy. Some semi-sweet orange and apricot.

Taste: Light crackery malt with citrusy hops. Maybe a tinge of apricot, but would not really notice if I didn't know it was there from the label. Finish is spicy, with a touch of ginger.

Feel: Moderately high carbonation, light body with a dry, crisp finish.

Overall: A crisp, refreshing, fairly flavorful Blonde Ale, and as a summer seasonal, it is light years better than the old Skinny Dip. While the apricot and ginger additions are minimal, that may be a good thing, as it just provides balance and subtle complexity. Love the exclusive use of Centennial hops!

Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a Sam Adams perfect pint glass.

Appearance: Slightly cloudy golden yellow with lots of bubbles. Solid two and a half finger white head with very good retention and lacing.

Smell: A sharp aroma of wheat and yeast with a lot of fruit. Good amount of citrus centennial hops and apricot with a hint of ginger spices. One of the stronger smelling summer beers I've tried.

Taste: A fairly light and well balanced taste with wheat and bready malts followed by a good kick of citrus. Lemon and apricot with a touch of ginger spice.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with a moderate carbonation. Very crisp and zesty.

Overall: A very good summer brew. One of the more complex ones I've had.
