Somersault pours a nice amber color with a pure white, soft-looking head on top. There are small carbonation bubbles rising within the clear body.
The main aroma is piney hops. While distinct, the hops aroma isn't overpowering so I can tell the flavor will be fairly balanced between the hops and malt.
Again, I taste the piney hops well-balanced with the malt backbone. The beer isn't really bitter, but it has a nice crispness to it.
The mouthfeel isn't completely smooth, nor is it too strong. The amount of carbonation works perfectly for this style.
Overall, this is a really nice summer beer. I have enjoyed many beers by New Belgium in the past, but I haven't drank too many of their seasonals. This is a summer beer that I will look forward to drinking again.
