Pours a clear, copper color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Good retention and decent lacing. Smells of sweet malt, earthy malt, alcohol, and hops. Fits the style of a Belgian Strong Pale Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, earthy malt, slight hop, slight wood, and hint of citrus. Overall, good blend and decent aroma.

Served in fluted tulip. Poured a very attractive, clean, amber color with less than 1/4 inch of head that had medium retention and lacing.

There was a sharp alcohol note at the front of the aroma, with a malt sweetness underneath. There was also a slight fruit (grape?) scent as well. The story was similar on the tongue, nice grains, a hint of fruit and a definite alcohol sting on the finish.

The body was good, solid without being heavy, full and nicely rounded. Drinkability was good, especially for a bigger beer. Overall, a very nice beer. If I see this in bottles I may set a couple aside to let the hotness smooth out. Worth trying if you see it.

A: The beer is clear amber in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with thin lacing on the surface that completely faded away.
S: There are moderate aromas of candi sugars in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of candi sugar with notes of yeast and hints of pears and spices.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied and a bit syrupy on the palate with a light amount of carbonation.
O: The beer isn’t that easy to drink and needs to be sipped very slowly given its strong flavors and high alcohol content.

On-tap at Beachwood BBQ,

A: Pours orange with a firm and frothy 1.5 finger head. Excellent head retention with spotty lace.

S: Heavy amount of pear and yellow apple. Very yeasty, good nose.

T: Pear city here, the esters are going crazy. Fairly one-dimensional, but it's a good flavour. Notes of cinnamon and baked apple are secondary, adding a nice complexity. A tad light in the actual flavour, making me ding it a bit, but clearly tasty.

M: Medium to full-bodied, smooth, frothy, thin clearly at points.

O: Not the greatest beer in the world, but I don't see where the early C+ is coming from. This is solid American Belgian-style beer.

On tap at the Anvil in Houston, TX

A: Pours a reddish/orange color. A one finger beige head forms. The foam recedes in a second. A small ring sticks throughout. Light lace is left behind.
S: Sweet candy malts. Dark fruits of raisins and figs. Light tart fruits of apples. Very enjoyable.
T: Follows the nose. Sweet candy malts, and dark fruits. A bit more of a tart apple flavor. Some yeast and wood lingers. I like it.
M/D: A medium to full body. Well carbonated, creamy and smooth. Easy and smooth to drink. A very good sipper.

Very enjoyable, and well done. Not much of a pale ale, but very good none the less. Something I would recommend.
