Aged for 1 year on my closet floor. Review from notes.

A: Pours a hazy amber color. Not much head.

N: Sweet malts, some pear. At this point I'm worried that the beer will be too sweet.

T/M: Some sweet malts up front. Hops and pear have faded into this really nice, tannic-tasting pear flavor, like pear peel. Boozy.

O: I was pleasantly surprised with this one. It aged really well.

Medium amber color beer, with a small, quickly fading head (looks about like Fat Tire). Fairly fruity nose, with a solid malt presence. Yummy flavor. Good initial malt gives way to extremely fruity yeast taste, on the order of Chimay Grand Reserve, or perhaps beyond it; some of it may be the pears, though I don't taste pear notes specifically. Hops are provide a great balance to the sweetness of this very strong beer. There's a nice subtle tartness as well. Spicy phenols make for a nice finish.

22 oz bottle split and poured into a Duvel tulip.
10% ABV, 3(?)-14-2011, "Ale brewed with Asian Pear juice".

A - A dense off-white head rests gently on top of Super Cru but leaves little in the way of lace. Beautiful caramel amber in color with great clarity!

S - The Asian pear juice comes through as exotic fruitiness with complimentary earthy hop tones. Mellow caramel maltiness provides a smooth and supple backbone. Nice yeasty finish.

T - Spicy esters open the brew with a bang while earthy hops provide a segway into the sweet biscuity, caramel-draped malt. Asian pear juice adds a considerable sweetness to the finish.

M - Smooth and well-carbonated, Super Cru is a medium-bodied brew with a lager-like refreshing quality to the finish.

O - I'm completely in the minority on this one, but I found Super Cru to be very solid across the board. Nothing like Fat Tire save for the bike depicted on the bottle, not that it was supposed to be. Complex and unique, I find it a good brew worth picking up.

a - Amber/gold with a light head.
s - Sweet, it smells like honey
t - Reminded me of mixed fruit juice. A little tart, not super exciting but very, very individual. It taste like clover honey.
m - syrupy and crisp.
o - one of my favorites. Easy good drinking. Sweet and tart, one of a kind.

A - Clear honey amber brew with a fair amount of head. No lacing remains in the glass.

S - Sweet malty aroma of honey and maple syrup with bananas, cloves, white pepper and wildflowers backing it up.

T - Sweet malt flavor. It is sweet throughout the taste, but rather complex at the same time. A bit of dandelion, white pepper, biscuits, cherries and pear. In the aftertaste there is a lingering bitter malt flavor with a hint of pear. The pear flavor lingering in the aftertaste is truly delightful (pears do happen to be one of my favorite fruits).

M - Smooth, medium to thick body, very refreshing.

D - Very good. I think this is my favorite lips of faith so far. Asian pears always taste like a mix of honey and pears to me, so their presence is felt. This is a great brew.

A- looks like carbonated scotch, low head and it dissipated quickly
S- tad of pear, a bit of clove and nutmeg, sweet
T- Oooh God it's delicious, definitely can tell the higher alcohol content
M- thick, tingly and surprisingly carbonated compared to the head (looks flat but you can feel the carbonation)
O- This is great "sitting around drinking" beer. Good with a cigar or during a cookout.

Poured from a 22 oz bomber into NB globe.

A: Pours a clear deep red with a one finger beige head.
S: That familiar belgian yeast aroma: cloves and fruity esters; there is also another unfamiliar fruity scent that I found on the bottle to be Asian pear juice.
T: The belgian twist is evident up front, with the spicy yeast blending in with the base caramel malts. The pear juice sits at the finish with some alcohol bite.
M: Medium bodied, well carbonated, but a bit harsh on the burn.
O: It tastes more or less as advertised: double Fat Tire with belgian yeast and added pear juice. The flavors do work well together, but the pear juice was something different my palate adjusted to during the course of my pour. As the last few posters have noted, I'm not sure why this has such horrible ratings, even much much worse than that of Fat Tire. It is certainly a better, more complex beer. My only qualms were with the fact that 10% abv tasted and felt like 15%.
