Amber colored appearance, a little darker than a peach, solid 1/2" white head on it, looks good, retention surprisingly went swimmingly. Aroma dropped heavy on the whiskey.

The peach is complimentary at best, its all barrel dominated, but not to the exclusion of all other flavors. A little bit sour, but the fruit and tart notes are second fiddle to that whiskey barrel. Its a neat beer along the lines of Vlad the Impaler or, shit, that one beer Bruery makes whose name escapes me right now.

Poured a gorgeous cloudy amber orange body with three fingers of nice fluffy white head that slowly receded and left nice lacing. A very good looking wild ale. Scents of peach, oak wood, light hints of orange flesh and peach, medium-light sugar-cookie like sweetness, moderate sour, funky wild yeast, light banana and medium-light levels of general fruity esters. Overall impression of aroma is of a nicely funky, fruity, fairly sweet and woody aroma. Complex, appealing and quite well executed. Flavor begins moderate-high in sourness, with notes of sour, funky yeast, oak, vanilla and lemon. This moves into a middle that is still sour and funky with further flavors of oak, light whiskey, light peach and sour lemon. Finish is dry and sour with notes of oak light whiskey and peach and sour, funky yeast. Aftertaste is oak, whiskey, light peach, light grainy, buttery malt and sour yeast. Overall impression of flavor is of a very sour, oak-heavy ale that has pleasant whiskey and peach notes mingling with the sourness. The malty and buttery flavors in the aftertaste are pleasant and add to the complexity. Very well done. Mouthfeel is medium-light bodied with moderate-high, effervescent carbonation and a drying, puckering feel. Overall impression of mouthfeel is of a nicely Quite nice and very refreshing. Overall this is another good sour ale from New Belgium. It is appealing and complex in aroma and flavor, nicely refreshing and sour, with good notes of oak, whiskey and peach complementing the sour ale. Mouthfeel aids the overall experience and makes the beer refreshing. This is an excellent barrel sour and well worth trying.
