A - Body is a hazy straw yellow. 2 fingers of head forms. Very tight bubbles with great retention. Lots of lacing on the glass. A good-looking beer.
S - Candied mango, grapefruit, and some earthy, grassy undertones. I can definitely get a sense of the belgian yeast shining through in this one though. Letting it warm just a bit brings out some interesting banana and butterscotch aromas.
T - Sweet and lemony up front. Just a touch of zesty fruitiness, which I assume is the belgian-ness coming through. Things take a turn toward bitter pine and grapefruit toward the middle, but the sweet, dry malty undertones carry through amid the hop festivities. Finish is definitely a let-down, though. I essentially get a two-tone flavor profile of bland hop bitterness and a yeasty zing--both of which peter out pretty quickly.
M - Light-to-medium body. Crisp and dry as one would expect from a true belgian style IPA. Finish is clean and somewhat tannic.
