Pours black with ruby edges and a thick tan colored head. The head is deformed and looks like a rootbeer float as it hangs on the sides of the glass and leaves sheets of lacing.
Toasted malt and hazlenut with a nice herbal hop aroma. Rather tame in the nose.
Toasted malt up front that is quickly overpowered by a citrus and grassy hop. A little but of nuttiness in the flavor and the finish. The finish is dominated by a citrus and herbal hop bitterness with a touch of roasted malt.
Very light and drinkable feel to it for a darker ale.
A nice beer for a sunny winter day. Easy drinking and good bright and warm flavors.
