12 oz. bottle poured into a mug.
Appearance: Pours a dark brown color, seemingly clear. Light-tan head is a fluffy 1-finger, and leaves a bit of lacing. Not much retention.
Smell: Hardly any aroma; I suppose there's a mild hint of citrus.
Taste: Mild malts with a bit of citrus-y hops on top. Similar finish and aftertaste. Not much as far as spices go.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied and smooth, with quite a bit of carbonation.
Drinkability: Relatively easy to drink, with a moderate ABV.
Fairly disappointing "winter" beer from New Belgium - honestly, much closer to a black IPA, and not a particularly good one at that.
