Poured from the bottle into a pint glass.
A - Very, very dark drown, almost Guinnes-dark. Can only see through if you hold it up to light. About a finger and a half of caramel-colored head.
S - Pleasantly hoppy, but not to the degree of, say, an IPA. Kinda bready, with a little bit of caramel scent, too.
T - Not quite as hoppy as the smell might make you think, but a good balance. Malty and peaty with hops on the side, sort of. Coffee taste, too.
M - Relatively heavy with a medium-low amount of carbonation, Goes down pretty smoothly with a good aftertaste. Not bitter.
O - The new midnight wheat ingredient is intriguing. If the rest of New Belgium's stuff is this good, I'm excited.
