pours a bodacious creamy off-white finger and a half head, with lacing that never really breaks off on its own, when it does its hella frothy, akin to hot cocoa. pours a root beer, black coffee type color into a mellow deep brown that light has trouble getting through.
smells like cedar and pine trees. hella hoppy, hella malty.
tastes warm. sort of spicy, but with an herbal balance. plethora-like on-bringing settles into a malty tongue lingering feel. piney hops fil the nose, overtake the palette.
nice, warm winter ale. little on the piney side, but that's just my opinion; good stuff overall.
