Hardly any head, smells very fruity, and it could just be the draft but seems pretty flat for a saison. First taste is fruity then a crisp aftertaste. I thought it was tasty. Very easy on the palette for an 8.5%. Want to try it again from the botttle. Thumbs up!

A - Pours a clear golden-orange color with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades down fairly slowly leaving behind some nice lacing.
S - Aroma is a mix of pear and apple with Belgian yeast, banana, clove, coriander, lemon zest, and some bready malts.
T - Starts off with some lightly tart pear and apple flavor with some bubblegum, banana, and clove yeast flavors. Through the middle, some more yeast character comes through with some farmhouse flavors, and bready malts. The finish is a mix of light tart fruit flavors with some bready malt, yeast flavors, and banana lingering.
M - Medium bodied with mild carbonation. Feels smooth with a lightly tart, dry, and spicy finish.
D - Very drinkable. The fruit flavors add a nice element to the beer without being too strong.

Comes out of the tap a clear, dark reddish amber with a thick, fine-bubbled, pale golden head that leaves some good lacing. Strong, crisp, fruity aroma has notes of pear, banana and - is that prickly pear? I get a hint of pomegranate. Rich, fruity, malty flavor has banana, pear and butterscotch notes - and what must be prickly pear cactus. Smooth, firm-bodied, lively texture leaves a satisfying fruity and fizzy finish.

Bomber poured into my NB globe.
Pours nice deep and golden. Smallish, light head. Very nice looking, even though the head disappears rather quickly.
S - Fruit and alcohol. Especially fruit. Really like the nose on this. The fruit doesn't have a sweet smell, but rather refreshing.
t - Pretty good. Definitely improves as it gets closer to room temp. Cold fridge is too cold for this one for sure. The fruit mingles nicely with the Saison flavors. Pretty typical of the style, very tasty. Nice, subtle alcohol notes and a almost sweet-free frutiiness.
m - Pretty on point for a Saison. If you are familiar with the style, no surprises here.
Overall, I really enjoyed this. Not mindblowing, but a very solid, tasty Saison. Definitely recommended if you enjoy the style.

Pours a nice golden/amber color, with a fair 1 finger white head.
Nose; fruity, floral, and a nice tartness (passion fruit I suppose).
Taste; notes of citrus and floral upfront with a hint of grains. Solid tartness with an earthy presence. Finishes with a definitive "meaty cactus" note and lingering tartness with a touch of grains.
Overall; having lived in AZ for numerous years, I am fairly accustomed to the prickly pear cactus and know what it tastes like. It certainly comes through for me and offers a unique addition to this beer. The passionfruit is certainly subtle, but adds a nice tartness which I prefer in a Saison. Additionally, I am impressed with the hidden abv.
Honestly, really surprised at the overall score and opinions on this beer; I dig it!

poured into a snifter.
hazy amber color with a finger's worth of head which quickly disappeared. smells of honey, lemon, olives, basil, oats (almost a new box of cheerios smell). slightly sour up front followed by a very nice traditional saison taste. honey, bread, pepper, and a citrus zest. light bodied, medium carbonation, no lacing at all. this is a very refreshing and very tasty saison. not as much up front with the belgian yeast/peppery taste, which males it stand out. wish it weren't a limited series, but of course, all saisons usually are. very nice and outstanding beer from new belgium brewing co.

A: This poured a hazy dark gold with a little white head.
S: It smelled like grassy and waxy hops, with wild yeast and fresh wheat and sweet prickly pear juice.
T: It tasted like sweet prickly pear juice and sour Belgian yeast, with grassy and waxy hops and fresh wheat. It had a sweet and sour and bitter aftertaste that was nice and clean.
M: It was thick with a little carbonation. Surprisingly heavy and thick.
D: This was a nice balanced and complex beer. Not really delicious, but the scent and taste and body were all enjoyable. The alcohol was well hidden too, so it was easy to drink. Probably best fresh. Interesting beer to try at least once. I liked it.

Pours a deep golden color with a small amount of haze. Off white one finger head.
Nose: Lemon, pepper, sweet pear, apple, honey.
Taste: Sweet, barny funk, juicy fermented apple, brown sugar, acidic zing.
Moderate carbonation with a crisp, fruity, and malty finish. Slightly bitter aftertaste.
Overall this was a very drinkable beer. I really enjoyed the subtle fruitiness - it was well-balanced with the rest of the flavors. Alcohol is well concealed. Not a very good example of the style, but a good beer nonetheless.
