On tap for Beachwood Sour Fest at Beachwood BBQ in Seal Beach, CA.

Pours a hazy orange with a foamy tan head that fades to nothing. No lacing on the drink down. Smell is sour and tart with honey, fruit, and slight vinegar aromas. Taste is much the same with super sour and tart fruit and vinegar flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is extremely sour but still quite tasty with some age on it.

On tap at Beachwood Seal Beach. Tulip.

A: Hazy reddish orange with a frothy off-white head. Lacing is scattered.

S: The aroma is exceptional, exhibiting a combination of quality acids. Strong citric lemon notes blend with a firm lactic presence and restrained vinegar notes. Leathery with barnyard and some funky cheese. There are some strawberry notes and a little diaper.

T: Piquant sourness up front with oak and a firm citric acidity. Lots of lemon and pixy stix sweetness. Notes of strawberry and raspberry are evident. Acetic acidity waxes from the midpalate to the finish. Lemon is firm throughout. The finish is full of lactic strawberry, lemon, and final acetic and citric exclamations.

M: Lower medium body with upper medium carbonation.

Overall: This beer reminds me a hell of a lot of Duck Duck Gooze, and it's really damn good.

On-tap at Beachwood BBQ

Pours a cloudy reddish-orange color with a small off-white head. Definitely an acetic note to it. A lot of fruit notes, especially cherry, raspberry, and strawberry. A bit of oak and grassy funk. The acetic character is strong in the flavor as is a strawberry note. Some cherry skins and oak notes, maybe a bit of must and hay. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation.

On-tap at Beachwood BBQ, a blend of three different foeders,

A: Pours red orange with a small white head, some lace.

S: Orange and strawberry, acid.

T: Nice flavours of stone fruit and strawberries. A good amount of acetic flavour in there too. Solid complexity.

M: High acidity, like La Folie in that aspect. Crisp carbonation, overall medium-bodied.

O: A good beer, classic New Belgium in style. High acid, a big sour, big flavour and acid but well made, never goes overboard.
