From notes on 04/03/12:
Best by: June 03, 2012; Poured in a pint glass.
A - One inch off-white semi-fluffy head with decent retention; Medium copper in color with a clear appearance; Spotty lacing left behind
S - Not a very strong aroma, but seems like a good profile of piney and citrusy hops with toasty and biscuity malts; A bit peppery as well
T - Some piney and wet, earthy hops are present with a touch of grapefruit, citrus, and even more subtle grape and tropical fruit flavor; Don't really detect any lemon from the Sorachi Ace hops; Seems like toasty malts have a balancing presence up front that turns into sweet caramel with a bit of fruit towards the end; Pretty subtle bitterness shows up in the first half of the taste
M - Nice and smooth going down; Moderate carbonation; Medium bodied or maybe a bit lighter; Leaves a bit of a slick film on the tongue; Finish is just a touch on the dry side
O - As far as American Pale Ales go, this one is a pretty solid offering that does bring a fairly unique flavor, but not to an overwhelming level. That said, this beer is super drinkable, very smooth, and a solid choice for just relaxing, socializing, and enjoying the long overdue days of Spring.
