Another Lips of Faith winner!! Beautiful dark color with a cinnamon pepper smell smell. Lots of south of the border chocolate taste up front that lingers and eventually turns into a slow burn of pepper. Absolutely amazing!!

Extremely dark brew; amongst the blackest I've ever seen. Nice head with good retention; little lacing.

Aroma leans heavily toward pumpkin spices (cinnamon and nutmeg), with chocolate and chile coming after. Intriguing, but a little artificial in presentation.

Flavor is a much better presentation overall. Chocolate malts and cocoa up front, immediately followed by cinnamon and chile. There's a very pleasant and noticeable heat, but never does it overpower. Lots of dry spice on the back-end (cinnamon in particular lingers).

Slick but overall kind of thin body; dry spicy finish; lingering chocolate on the aftertaste. Pepper heat lingers pleasantly.

This is an excellent spiced stout. It leans a little too heavily toward sweetness and cinnamon; I would like more of a strong base stout. Roasted malt is overwhelmed by sugar and spice. Tastes a little artificial in doses.

Amazing take on a chili beer... Loaded with interesting flavors and aromas... Cinnamon and chilis dominate in both departments... No booze at all... Scary drinkable... 32 oz growler fill is perfect... Delicious and different...

An interesting beer, but not something I would pick up again. The nose is cinnamon, nothing subtle about it, and quite nice. Taste is a letdown in that whatever cocoa is there (and it's not much) is quickly overcome by the chile. It starts with the flavor found in the skin if dried chile and finishes with spice, again not subtle. It actually packs some heat. Body is a bit thin, and the alcohol too is covered up by pepper. Not too much enjoyable here for me.

Appearance: Poured into a snifter. Kicked up a short half inch head that quickly faded to a thin bubbly film. Very dark brown color.
Smell: Lots of cinnamon and sweet chocolate up front, and a slight pepper and faint alcohol aromas in the background.
Taste: A lot less cinnamon in the taste, and the heat from the peppers has become more dominant. There's some subtle chocolate and vanilla flavors as well.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, almost thin feeling.
Overall: Not sure about this one, I'm not the biggest chili beer fan. It's OK, but not up on a par with my all time favorite chile beer, Stone Xocoveza. Not sure if I'd seek this out again.

Bottle:
Pours a little thin and a clear but dark auburn brown. Head is shockingly white atop the dark brew, foamy and leaving some lacing. Nose has some spice to it, nutmeg or similar earthy spice, along with some chile atop a toasted to burnt bread smell. Initially I got almost nothing, warmth helped.

Taste is unsweetened cocoa or chocolate, a deep earthy (like what I magine mud tastes like) flavor. I've not had much mole, but I can see it tasting like this. The chili pepper is almost unnoticeable in a cold beer, but comes out with warmth and actually builds nicely sip after sip. The one downside is the beer feels watery to me, the flavors more robust than the feel.

This grew in me as I sipped it, but overall wasn't my cup of tea. I appreciated it and it intrigued me, though. My girlfriend liked it, so I can see having another glass at another time for a change of pace.
