A - Black, creamy head, lots of creamy lace.

S - Predominantly coffee, with a back bone of sweet malt.

T - NICE! Creamy, chocolate coffee flavors, melding nicely together.

M - Very creamy, good carb, good balance, pleasant coating on the palate.

D - Despite the ABV, could have a few.

Hugely aromatic with coffee. Some nice suds on pouring, but it dissipates rapidly. Plenty of fizz on the tongue.

Intense coffee flavor. Very thin and sharp. Some bitter chocolate taste, even more in the aftertaste. Rather acidic. This is an oddity; it's not the usual fattened-up malt bomb of a choco stout.

Worth a try if you like big-flavored beers, but quite a lightweight coffee slash of a brew. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Grapevine Liquor in Denver.

I've been looking for this bad boy since I first had it (many times) when I lived in Houston in 2012-2013. Another great find!

Pours pitch black with a creamy, tan, 1/4 inch head that dissapates quickly. Still tons of coffee on the nose after this long in the bottle. Reminds me of Terrapin's Wake and Bake Imperial Coffee Stout.

First sip is somewhat bitter, like cold brew coffee. Another 10 minutes brings out something similar to a mocha latte.

Wonder if a bourbon barrel aging with the coffee would have melded well, as the chocolate malt starts to sweeten up the whole mix while it warms.

20 minutes out of the fridge and the coffee is far in the background now on the palate. Can't help wondering how some vanilla would balance this out.

Well, enough of this for one night. Great beer, try to find one!

1 PINT, 6 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a snifter

A - This beer is black with less than an inch of tan head.

S - It smells like a cup of coffee with cream and sugar added.

T - The coffee stands out more than the chocolate. It tastes more like a coffee cream stout.

M - Full

O - I think it is delicious. I did just have Founder's Breakfast stout last night, so with that lingering in my mind it knocks this beer down a little by comparison. It is a good coffee stout though, and I would definitely drink it again.
