This is one of the best beers I have ever tried. So sweet, malty, and fruity with the perfect smell AND mouthfeel. It might have to be my new favourite quad because on top of anything I would have expected, it's got this alcoholic "nastiness" to it. I'm not sure how to best describe it, but it's the perfect mist of musty earthiness and alcoholic bite. Basically, as a connoisseur of malt liquor (a rare specialty), this has everything a kickass malt liquor needs with everything a freaking awesome quad needs as well. It's the best of both worlds and is a top competitor for my personal favourite beer of all time (as those are my two favourite styles). It's super-light in body (for the style), very sweet, but has enough malty flavour crammed into that light body to make it very interesting.
Caution: This is a HOT brew. I'm talking hot, alcoholic flavour. So, if you don't want to taste that, don't put it into your mouth. If you're into that, go pick this up right now.

Found a date on the side that says: "Best enjoyed by August 2014." Now when this actually came out, I'm unsure of, however, I would say there are at least 10 bombers of this stuff sitting at the Breeze In, Juneau location that just showed up last week.
Anyways, I poured this into a chalice.
A: a rustic brown colored body with a one finger white foamy head that died within a half minute. Some lacing ends up trying to stick to the sides.
S: tart cherry with a slight coffee-ness trying to come through but honestly kind of comes through in an "ashy" sort of way - hmmmm...
T: some tart cherry and some other dark fruits try to balance the coffee and ash; aftertaste is somewhat a bland yet kind of tart cherry; dry ashy and somewhat coffee finish
M: she sits about a medium on the mouth and tongue, not really sessionable - though it seems like this one tries to be; carbonation runs fairly smooth
O: I say this is a decent quad, because I have become more engaged in this style within the past year, I think I can honestly say that this is a mostly ok quad that I don't think I'd have at my Easter meal.
