Had on tap.
Pours a hazy dark red with a thick white head. Great head retention as well as lacing that hangs around for a very long time.
The aroma is full of cherry and other dark fruit along with a bit of spice and herbs.
Tons of cherry up front in the aroma along with dates. It almost reminds me of cherry kool-aid at first that's how strong the cherry is. This transitions into a more herbal and tobacco taste as the flavor progresses. Banana and clove are faintly present in the background along with alcohol becoming more apparent in the finish.
Overall, there is just way too much going on here. It is a little bit messy with nothing seeming to meld just right. A nice attempt at a unique quad but I feel it is just too overdone.

Found a date on the side that says: "Best enjoyed by August 2014." Now when this actually came out, I'm unsure of, however, I would say there are at least 10 bombers of this stuff sitting at the Breeze In, Juneau location that just showed up last week.
Anyways, I poured this into a chalice.
A: a rustic brown colored body with a one finger white foamy head that died within a half minute. Some lacing ends up trying to stick to the sides.
S: tart cherry with a slight coffee-ness trying to come through but honestly kind of comes through in an "ashy" sort of way - hmmmm...
T: some tart cherry and some other dark fruits try to balance the coffee and ash; aftertaste is somewhat a bland yet kind of tart cherry; dry ashy and somewhat coffee finish
M: she sits about a medium on the mouth and tongue, not really sessionable - though it seems like this one tries to be; carbonation runs fairly smooth
O: I say this is a decent quad, because I have become more engaged in this style within the past year, I think I can honestly say that this is a mostly ok quad that I don't think I'd have at my Easter meal.

Pours hazy red rust color with 1 inch of off-white head that settles to a ring on top and leaves thick strands of lace.
Smell is of funky yeast, tart cherry and an unpleasant hint of ash aroma.
Taste is dominated by bready malt with hints of cherry and other assorted dark fruits.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation.
This effort falls far short of the template set by the classic Belgian quads. In fact, there are many examples of American quadrupels that are more worthy of any quad drinker's attention. Mediocre and forgettable.
