A – One finger head, dissipates kind of quickly. Quite clear amber/copper. Absorptive but clear. No haze, just some bubbles.
S – Citrus, melon, grass, and pine- each there but mixed nicely. Mostly orange, slight lemon zest; cantaloupe; slight grass and fresh pine, very nice. I think I can pickup a strawberry-watermelon scent, but I think that’s conflation or smell mixing.
T – A little grass up front followed by a strong but not aggressive pine-hoppy flavor. Meets a nice malt level and there’s a brief lemon zest. The pine comes back to balance with the malt and then the pine fades considerably leaving a slightly grassy low-strength flavor.
M – Slightly cozy, fuzzyish medium body. Dry finish.
D – Very good. Kind of wish the aftertaste had more to it. Love the balance.
Let it warm for ~10 minutes.
S – Grass, slight lemon, wood. Pine and melon are gone. Really big sniffs reveal some pine.
T – A pine-grass-malt flavor. Finishes with the same flavor through, it’s quite good. Then it drops off quickly. The malt is stronger than it should be for an IIPA.
M – Finish is not as dry now. I’d call it semi-dry, then it becomes dry. Medium bodied and cozier now.
D – Still very good but it’s not mind-blowing (what is?).
4.5, 4.25, 4.25, 4.5, 4.25.
