Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a shaker. A moderate pour brings between 1 and 1.5 inches of a white, frothy, sticky head. The beer is a pale ruddy golden, crystal clear, with light carbonation.
Nice aroma of citrus pith and pine, with a backbone of biscuit malt. A good deal of perceived sweetness with a dry finish, creamy mouthfeel and lingering bitterness. Caramel and brown sugar notes, and perhaps a little peach pit compete with the citrus and toned-down pine. The alcohol adds a bit of a spicy bite, but is otherwise masked.
This is an excellent and reasonably priced DIPA. I think I only paid about 8 bucks for a sixer.

(enjoy by 21 Sep 2014 - poured into a balloon)
A: crystal-clear, sunrise orange liquid... tall, very open tuft of white foam - jiggles around like jell-o when the glass is lifted
S: my kind of hop scent - semi-dry hop cones, faint tobacco, ganja, spiced orange, oven-toasted brown paper bag... background pine and ethanol... touch of roasted grain and nut at the bottom... can almost detect an "acidic" undertone... boozy-er as it warms, but still hop-dominated... familiar scents, but mad potent and alive in projection
T: mildly savory, herbal-bitter hops... spicy resins abound... quite dry in the finish, as the hop resins and floral booze hum loudly and linger mid-palate, with the sort of candied-orange notes falling off the sides of the tongue while a peppery, oregano-like flavor whirs in the center... almost a radicchio-like chord long in the aftertaste
M: smooth and moderately viscous, yet light-er bodied... desiccating pull on each taste bud... the warmth creeps up, nestles in the belly and works its way out to the extremities
O: have yet to brew with it, but Centennial might be my favorite American hop, hands down... does this remind me of Hoptimum? maybe a little - I could be off - I've had so many hop rockets like this... a well-made IPA
