Notes/Commercial Description:
A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampant's finish is bone-dry.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle to a tulip glass.

A: Pours a clear, deep golden with a 1 finger cream head that sticks around.
S: Deep pine and grapefruit notes. Earthiness, Mandarin orange.
T: Toasty malts are powered by dank hop oils. Sweetness in the body. Fruitiness accompanies the sweetness in the middle of the palate. Taste ends with some alcohol and a hoppy aftertaste. Pretty balanced.
M: Light to medium mouthfeel.
O: Pretty good for a DIPA. The malts are pretty strong in this ale, and add some balance and sweetness to the fruity hops. Not overwhelmingly hoppy. Pretty balanced overall. Would get again.

Pours really clear, shiny old gold colored with a thin white head that leaves some nice sticky lacing.
A really nice orchard fruity smell, with apricot, peach and apple, light citrus, topped with green herbal notes, with pine, grass and faint peppermint. Light caramel sweetness.
A very (overly, quite) sweet mix of malts and fruit. There's apricot jam, overripe peach, Chinese plum, faint quince mash. A nice bittersweet generic orange hop zing keeps this fresh. Light grain, big herbal feel with a big ration of floral notes, a bit of mint, lemongrass, white pepper. Finishes with nice pine, mildly spicy grassy bitter hops.
Quite bitter, almost dry, but the big sweetness manages to pass to the aftertaste. So hop, overripe stone fruit, malt sweetness. Low to medium carbonation for a smooth, slightly sticky body.
This one was kinda old too, but the hops are still rather strong in the aroma and taste. A nice blend of fruity hops, a bit sweet, pretty great IIPA.

Great IPA that is very smooth for 8.5 ABV.

Clear amber color. Quarter inch head at first, slowly disappearing. Musty hop aroma. Initial taste is of deep malt, also fairly musty. Lingering hop bitterness. Tasty. Good imperial, not mind-blowing, but I would definitely buy again. For 5 bucks at Whole Foods for a bomber, it's a steal.

Enjoyed on 12/12/14. Enjoy by date 2/15/15. 8.5.% ABV.

One of my favorite all-time beers. Great combination of flavors. I'm partial to the Belgium ales in general but this is top shelf.
