Notes/Commercial Description:
A burly and bitter Imperial IPA, Rampant pours a pure copper and carries the sheen of a rightly hopped beer. The Mosaic and Calypso hops bring stonefruit to the front seat, and the addition of Centennials nod towards citrus for a well-rounded aroma. The taste expands these hops with heavy peach tones and a profoundly bitter bite. There is some malt sweetness to stand this beer up, and Rampant's finish is bone-dry.

Delightful Thanksgiving DIPA with a bomber purchased in MI last month.

Pours a clear and bright amber with a white head that dissipates quickly but leaves an impressive amount of lacing. Hop forward aroma has a nicely caramelized resin background. Well balanced taste roams from toffee and malt to a nicely bitter finish. Although I can't pick out the specific hop varietals, it is definitely a beer I'll seek out again.

Appearance: Poured clear amber, with little visible carbonation. Two finger white foamy head. Excellent lacing all the way down the glass.

Smell: Sweet, almost syrupy, hops. Citrusy and herbal.

Taste: Sweet citrus, but not a lot of hop bitterness. Herbal and well balanced.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and very slow. Minimal carbonation bite.

Drinkability: An excellent imperial IPA. Very drinkability with wonderful flavor that is strong, but not overpowering.

Buy Again? Yes.

Pours golden amber with a thin, white lasting head. Trailing lacing sticks.

The smell is of citrus and herbal notes.

The taste is of citrus - especially orange and grapefruit with herbal bitterness. It is backed by a firm pale malt and caramel backbone. Alcohol shows, but not too raw. It has a fruity, bitterish, boozy finish.

Juicy, it slides down easily despite high abv.

This is a fruity, hoppy, strong imperial IPA. Very nice!

Whoa! Large crusty foamy white head. Brew is funky orange-yellow color. Head lingers for an abnormal amount of time.

Sweet and sugary aroma. Peach, apricot, pineapple... A bit on the sweet side of things. Do I smell bleach?

Basic flavors and feel. Watery, thin, apple-piney, bready, heavy carbonation, fizzy. Fairly middle of the road; slightly above average. Missing much complexity and creamy-ness. Awkward bitter bite, not typical...

A better than average NB IPA, but still fall short of being a solid IIPA offering. A very introductory IPA for the wandering fan. Recommended, but only for the price...

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.

Pours a brilliantly clear, deep golden color with a thin, fluffy, white head with excellent retention. Good amount of carbonation is visible rising though the glass. Smells like lots of hops, mostly pine and earthy in character. There is a slight malty smell as well. Taste is very hop pronounced, resiny, earthy, and bitter up front. There is a mild malty sweetness throughout the taste, and the bitterness lingers through the finish which is very crisp. No discernable alcoholic taste even for an 8.5% beer. Mouthfeel is very smooth, medium high carbonation, and slightly viscous. Overall this is a very good Double IPA, not nearly as extreme as some, both in terms of maltiness and hoppiness. This could pass as a Single IPA to some breweries. Will definitely have this beer again.
