Had this poured into a pint glass. Mine was more transparent than most of the reviews on here would say, straw yellow color. Taste had a bit of spice on the tip of your tongue, but most light malt. Touch of malt in the aroma as well. Not a big pilsner guy, but this is a good one.

Solid pilsner, just right amount of spice and malt. Light and crisp body, 2 finger white head that fades out.

Pours as expected. There was not going on in the nose. I picked up some wheat, spiciness, and some hops but rather boring. It did not get you excited to take your first sip. I was pretty impressed with the taste. It followed the nose but the spices were a little more pronounced but not overdone and the hops were pretty tame. It was very pleasant. I have not had too many pilsners but this is one of my favorites. I will search this out again it is just too bad it is a rerelease for a limited time.

Warm day, long day. Time for a Pilsner.

Appearance : Slightly hazy mellow gold color, about 70% opaque. The head is generous with lots of fluffy flair. It stands about three fingers tall and leaves decoration as it recedes to about 1 finger.

Aroma : Hay, straw, perhaps after a rainstorm...some light spiciness and faint hop. Very faint orange. Bouquet is medium strength.

Flavor : The spice comes out in the flavor, biting the tongue and leaving a sharpness behind. There's a generous malt bill here but it's not a cheap one, and it compliments the hop spiciness appropriately. The hop does wax a little bitter though, which is the nature of it I suppose, but I wish it wasn't so shrill. That's the only thing I'd change.

Mouthfeel : Creamy and rich, with abundant carbonation. Ends slightly parched.

Overall : A solid Czech Pilsner. I'd have it again and recommend it to anyone who likes these kinds of beers.

Fizzy head, minimal lace. Nose is grapey, floral. Taste: quite spicy, a bit grassy. Pretty nice

Look: great clarity, yellow color (darker than most German pilsners I've had), foamy thick head

Aroma: fresh bread, biscuity aromas, earthiness,

Taste: pretty standard taste, but heavier on the malt side than most German pilsners I've had, no real bite to the finish that I was hoping for, tastes like fresh bread, not enough bitterness on the finish or enough carbonation

Mouthfeel: a little flat, medium light body

Overall: not a great example of a good German Pilsner I think. Too malty, not enough carbonation, and not enough hop bitterness to balance the finish. Good for a cookout because you can get it for cheap and anywhere in the US, but this one won't impress too many guests.

Not really a pilsener, it's not hoppy enough by my reckoning. Still a fairly easy to drink and refreshing beer that hits the spot on a hot day.

Slow poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Bottle looks sort of old school but not bad. A cheap yellow with a head that sticks around. One of the best smelling beers I've had in a long time. Bear is like a twin of MHL without the carbonation with a pale taste at the end.

12oz bottle into a pilsner glass
Best before: 13Sept15

A: Crystal clear, bright yellow, 1plus fingers width of bright white head, lots of carbonation bubbles rising to top of the glass. Head dissipates down fair quickly and leaves a few patches of lacing. 3.25

S: Lots of sweetness, honey like, biscuits, doughy, mild floral notes, subtle diacetyl butteriness. 3.25

T: Sweet malts, noble hope spice, doughy yeast, some bitterness. 3.25

M/D: Fuller body for the style/ABV, carbonation moderate, drinkability is ok. 2.75

O: Pretty average American Pilsner. Not a bad beer, but not something I would purchase (was leftover from a recent beach party). 3

I love this pils. Refreshing and very session-able, without being watered-down or flavorless. Reminds me a little of Belikin.

I enjoy a good, cool pilsner on a warm day. This one was nice...clear and golden, with a bright head. The aroma is bready, with malt and spicy hops. Touch of sulfur. The taste is mildly sweet. Medium in body and clean. Nice.

Quick review. This is a really solid pils from New Belgium. Mildly bready malt offsets a nicely carbonated, light, bright body. Looks & smells a bit underwhelming, but comes through with its mellow, balanced flavors. This brew is easily the most satisfying Czech-style pils that I've tasted to date.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours a light golden color with a two finger head of fizzy foam. The head has a great level of retention, very slowly fading over time to leave lots of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma of the beer is rather light overall with the aroma constituted mostly by a slightly grainy and bready smell. Beyond these aromas are some very light hints of grass and some lighter fruits of an apple and pear nature.

Taste – The taste begins with a quite bready flavor mixed with a little bit of fruit of apple and pear. Along with these flavors are some lighter flavors of caramel and a little bit of a grainy taste. As the taste moves forward the fruit fades a tad all while the grain grows stronger with some hop flavors of a grassy and slightly yeasty taste coming to the tongue. With a surge of the grain that comes at the very end, and a lighter level of an herbal taste, one is left with a moderately crisp, but still rather flavorful and malty flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather thin with a carbonation level that is on the slightly higher side. For the style and the moderately sweet, yet crisp and bready taste,s the feel is rather nice and creates a rather easy drinking feel for the pilsner style.

Overall –A little on the sweeter side, but with enough grassy and herbal hop and some more bready and grainy flavors to keep it all balanced. And at an only 4.8 % abv. this is a rather nice easy drinking pils. A great summer time brew.

Clear golden pilsnery goodness. An even, bright white, large-bubbled head with excellent retention for the style. I detect a honey-like pale malt aroma. Refreshing but pleasantly spicy, zesty, lemony. Mouthfeel is watery, with not too dry of a finish. This beer is well-carbonated as well, as was first indicated in the head. And with the crisp, mildly bitter hop aftertaste, it's a great American representation of the classic Czech lager.

Pours a clear straw color with hints on honey. Big soapy pure white head that settles into a puffy cap.

The aroma is of a crackery pils malt with some grainy notes. A bit of a spicy hop but quite subtle. I prefer not to have that strong of a grainy aroma.

The taste is light and crisp. Dry crackery malt mixes with a grassy/peppery/spicy hop to give the beer that pils flavor. Light metallic notes in the finish.

The feel is light, almost watery. Plenty of fizzy carbonation to add to the crispness of the beer. Finishes fairly clean with a light hoppy bitterness in the finish. Overall it is a bit lacking on the feel.

A decent pils but has too much of a grainy flavor and the body is a bit watery.

A pretty average pilsner. I’d say sub-par for New Belgium. Refreshing and drinkable on a hot summer afternoon, but pretty low on flavor and/or character.

The light hop scared my bud drinking relatives. I think it is a nice lawn mower beer.
